Polar Bears and Global Warming Video

Polar bears are ever more emerging as threatened due to several factors including industry projects, ice in their natural environment melting, and human aspect. By a long way the biggest culprit is actually the adjustment in the natural environment of the polar bear. Many life-threatening situations are created for these cold weather bears when the ice melts. World-wide warming that is linked to industrialization as well as ventures such as driving a vehicle, burning coal, as well as additional human projects creates the ice melting.

Ice melting must be actually a primary focus of conservation efforts for the polar bear as this is actually impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears depend on enormous blocks of moving ice to do their everyday actions linked to thriving. Polar breeds prey on fat-laden seals from these blocks of ice, they mate, as well as some also deliver their cubs on them. The problem by having the ice melting is that lots of polar bears have gone hungry for the reason that there is not sufficient ice for them to hunt their prey. This impacts their ability to reproduce and carry their cubs to term that directly impacts human population numbers. Also, when ice is actually too a long way from land, polar bears will wipe out trying to swim a long way distances to locate them. All of these factors have actually made the polar bear more land bound.

Interference in the form of authorities controls to lessen mortal impact has been highlighted as a main concern in America and additional nations. In addition, private businesses as well as interest collections proceed to lobby as well as function by having the authorities to safeguard this valued animal in its natural habitat. Apart from authorities intercession, additional research pertaining to world-wide warming is actually valuable so that the temperature change are able to be put a stop to or reversed. There are agencies that are raising money for this extremely function. Yet another method communities are actually helping the polar bear is actually to make use of competent bear patrol agents to keep the land bound polar bears from folks and to make sure that the bears are not contending too highly with the people for the food sources on land.

What are the effects of a polar bear’s extinction?

  2. there wouldnt be any polar bears

  3. well the whole delicate nature would shift so many prey means very little food between them, and so much prey means so many other predators having it easy and eating them until theirs not enough to support them! chaos at its worst btw penguins and polar bears live on the other side of the earth from each other in fact artic means with polar bear, and Antartica means without ;) hope i helped

  4. Igloos don’t get eaten and human population rises.

  5. Gingerita ? says:

-nature would become unbalanced, that’s for sure -more fish population -more penguins -more seals (because its their main food) well that’s about it…

Help ME SAVE THE POLAR BEARS!? What can I do to prevent the extinction of the Polar Bears ? I feel so sorry for them. Oh, was there another answer above yours #2? I know, totally ignorant to the facts, right?

Did you know on a daily basis many species go extinct. Just something to think about.

  8. ‘Tis the mark of a liberal or a democrat to whine. It’s a trend, if you wish. They’re like a bunch of two year olds whining and crying Mine, mine! Very annoying!

  10. The bears still have Canada. Most of them live there anyhow.

Are polar bears already officially listed as an endangered specie? Pls enlighten me. I’m assigned to conduct a speech about polar bear extinction in a week and I’m terribly clueless just yet.

From polarbearsinternational.org: “Scientists predict that, if current warming trends continue in the Arctic, two-thirds of the world’s polar bears could disappear by 2050. At the most recent meeting of the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group (held in Seattle in 2005), the world’s leading polar bear scientists reported that of the 19 subpopulations of polar bears, five were declining, five were stable, two were increasing, and seven had insufficient data to make a determination. The group reclassified the polar bear as vulnerable on the IUCN World Conservation Union’s “Red List of Threatened Species,” noting that the species could become extinct due to sea ice changes. Individual countries with polar bears have reclassified the species as well. Citing to concerns about shrinking sea ice habitat, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced on May 14, 2008, that it is listing the polar bear as a Threatened Species under the Endangered Species Act. Canada and Russia both list the polar bear as “a species of concern.” The major threat to the polar bear is shrinking sea ice habitat due to climate change. Other threats include pollution, poaching, and industrial disturbances. Hunting could become a threat if populations are not well managed.”
